-Think of better ways to solve your problems then by shooting someone.
-Instead of ignoring said problems by packaging them into some political power struggle, forget your ego and understand that you must do what needs to be done for the good of everyone.
-If something bad happens to you, don’t think that it is only happening to you. Bad things happen to everyone. And it gets better.
-Understand that you are not a perfect person and that having fears, doubts, anxieties, sadness, and anger are completely healthy in small amounts. And that having both chaotic and peaceful elements to your personality is exactly what makes you human.
-Before you yell at someone and tell them how they’re a racist or a sexist, first consider that they might be speaking out of genuine ignorance.
-Get off your freaking phone for just five minutes.
-Just because you need time to improve your mental, personal, and physical health, that does not mean that you should be selfish or egotistical.
-Do that thing that you’ve always wanted to do because there’s no such thing as “spare time” there is only “now.”
-Look up the definition of “empathy” and think about how you could apply it to your own life.
-Before getting offended by something, ask WHY you are offended by that something and whether you SHOULD be.
-Watch a ton of Stark Trek because it’ll be the 60th anniversary.

OK, so I was going to wait to tell you guys this AFTER New Year’s, but I’m too excited about it. SOOOOOO, with a new year comes a new book. I am very happy to reveal the front cover of the paperback edition and Ebook edition of my new novel, BLOOD TRADE! Coming to Amazon, Spring 2016!

Twenty-five year old David Frye is known as the best drug dealer in King Beach, California. But when a local gangster calls for his head on a plate, he is made an offer that he can’t refuse by an unlikely source. A mafia clan of vampires has chosen him to test run their new business venture: use the drug trading system as a way to distribute human blood amongst themselves. David accepts and is quickly swept away by the seductive world of the undead. That is until he begins to suspect that there might be something far more insidious at work than what he had originally bargained for. Encountering vampire history, a secret government agency of monster hunters, and more; David is confronted with the darkness within himself and is forced to come to terms with the horrors that he has unleashed. Both terrifying and thought provoking, BLOOD TRADE gives vampires their bite back.

I think there are a couple of REALLY big myths out there about being a writer that freezes people from pursuing it.
1. You need an agent or go through a traditional publishing company until you can officially call yourself an author.
2. A lot of hard work and luck are the keys to being successful.
Firstly, being a writer is the only artistic profession that I know of where there is no apprenticeship needed. A lot of practice? Yeah. But you can’t “teach” writing. You either can do it or you can’t. No agent required because you can learn the tools that are needed to promote yourself. In my opinion, if someone pays to read something that you wrote, you are now a writer. Doesn’t matter if it’s through Harper Collins or Amazon, the result is still the same. Before then, you are just aspiring. Secondly, the key to success is that there is no key. If there was, every book would be good. If you walk into your local Barnes & Noble and see walls upon walls of Hunger Games rip-offs and pretentious novels about how a tea cup reminds a guy of his dead mom, then I HIGHLY doubt that every single one of those books are either great or were published out of sheer luck. The great lie of this whole thing is that you have to have permission in order to do what you want to do because that’s how the system makes money. The truth is that there is ALWAYS a 50/50 shot that you’re going to make it Your creativity, just like anything else in life, all depends on whether you want to take that chance or not. Because that’s really all that you can control.

Hello, Internet! After careful consideration, I’ve decided that if the Inkshares campaign doesn’t work out, I will publish my new book,BLOOD TRADE, on Amazon. It’s going to take a lot of work to do it properly,  but I think I can do it. One of the things that I HAVE to do before launch date is get reviews. At least twenty of them. So, if you would like to be one of those reviews, please send me a message with your email address and I’ll give you a digital copy of the book. Keep in mind that it hasn’t been officially edited yet, so there are a few grammatical mistakes, but not huge. What I’m mainly looking for in a review is a focus on the content. I’m thinking that I’ll probably publish it in March or April, so I want to give y’all plenty of time to read it. Below is a synopsis of the book. Thanks a lot!
